Coleen Rooney has opened up about a devastating miscarriage she suffered at 10 weeks pregnant.
The TV personality and wife of footballer Wayne Rooney is a mum to four sons: Kai, 13, Klay, 10, Kit, seven, and Cass, five.
While Coleen, 37, and Wayne, also 37, frequently share pictures of their kids online and keep their fans updated on all the family antics, there’s something people won’t know.
In her new autobiography – My Account, released after her Disney+ documentary, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story – she details losing a pregnancy and the devastation that followed.
Speaking to the Daily Mail’s You Magazine, Coleen said it was ‘a horrible experience that knocked Wayne for six, too.’
Coleen added that her husband has suffered from depression intermittently ever since, which they believe is the result of the intense pressure he’s been under since joining Everton as a boy.

‘Still, to this day he has it – everyone on him,’ she said. ‘Not to see what he’s doing right but to see what he’s doing wrong. It’s a shame.’
Coleen has stood by her husband throughout the rocky times in their relationship but insists that she has coped better in the spotlight than him.
‘Whatever scrutiny I was under, [Wayne] had it tenfold.’
She says in her book that Wayne is ‘not a big talker’ so sometimes ‘it can get to a point where it’s a bit much’.
‘He’ll drink to blot it all out and escape from the world. What happens, of course, is the opposite.’
There’s no denying that the Rooneys have had their fair share of ups and downs, particularly with the footie star’s cheating scandals.

However, despite criticism, their marriage has stood the test of time and Coleen continues to praise her other half.
‘Wayne’s a great dad,’ she pens in her memoir.
‘Every time he’s gone off the rails, it’s been a stupid, drunken, spur-of-the-moment thing.’
Coleen also shares her ‘message’ to people who might also be going through a turbulent time.
‘My message is if there’s something to work at, if the love’s still there, why would you throw that away?
‘Mistakes have happened, but I’ve always known Wayne’s loved me.’
Speaking of husband Wayne’s scandals, there’s one in particular that Coleen was left feeling ‘sickened and heartbroken’ by.

In 2017, Wayne was arrested for drink driving, with another woman in the passenger seat.
The Manchester United legend was stopped by police after being found behind the wheel of a VW Beetle belonging to lettings agent Laura Simpson, who had met Wayne on a night out while his wife Coleen – who was pregnant with their fourth child – was on holiday.
Speaking in her latest documentary, Coleen claimed Wayne is a ‘totally different person’ when drunk and said he was ‘stupid’ to get himself in a compromising position.
‘It was just sickening. I’ve had that feeling in my stomach a few times and I would never wish anyone to feel that,’ she said of hearing the news.
Coleen and Wayne have been backwards and forwards between the UK and the US over the past year since Wayne signed a reported £1million-a-year contract to be the boss of DC United.

As for their children, they’re growing up fast.
Eldest Kai is following in his famous dad’s footsteps, as he plays as a forward for Manchester United’s youth academy.
The teen signed his first-ever contract with the team in December 2020, highly in demand after turning down a number of other clubs.
