WWE superstar Apollo Crews has finally returned to action and confirmed he has been dealing with an injury.
The 36-year-old wrestler, who is a former United States and Intercontinental Champion, was back in the ring on weekly WWE show Main Event on November 9 in a losing effort to Imperium’s Ludwig Kaiser.
It marked his first match since the August 7 episode of the same show, when he teamed with Akira Tozawa to take on Indus Sher’s Sanga and Veer in another loss.
Two days earlier, he was also an unsuccessful entrant into the Slim Jim Battle Royal at this year’s SummerSlam, which was won by the megastar LA Knight.
Crews was delighted to be back wrestling again, and revealed over the weekend that his lengthy absence was down to an unspecified injury.
‘Had a little injury that kept me out for a few months. Felt great being back in the ring. 💎,’ he wrote alongside a photo of himself posing for the crowd during his comeback.
Fellow wrestler Natalya was among those wishing him well on his return, as she commented: ‘Let’s GO!!!!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥’
‘Was wondering what happened.. glad you’re back,’ one follower replied, while a second fan added: ‘Happy to see you recovered and back in action bro🙏🏽✊🏽’
And someone else is already pitching dream matches for Crews now that he’s fit and healthy, as they suggested: ‘I need you vs dragon lee asap 🔥🔥’

Since being called by up from NXT to Monday Night Raw in May, Crews has largely been featured on Main Event, which isn’t one of WWE’s main flagship programmes.
That spell followed by the injury means the star is looking to kickstart his latest run again, having been revitalised by his spell in NXT for much of the previous year.
It was a welcome move for Crews, who felt he was called up from the developmental brand too soon a few years ago – although he’s grateful for everything he’s done on the main roster.

‘Being able to win the Intercontinental Title at WrestleMania, United States Championship – who knows if any of that would’ve happened? It’s one of the things I can’t look back on because I can’t change,’ he exclusively told Metro.co.uk.
‘I think about it – not often, but I’m just looking forward to the future and focusing on what’s in my control and controlling the present and trying to set up a better future.’
