WWE is bringing Backlash France to Lyon-Decines in May 2024 for an historic night.

The company will hold its first ever premium live event in the European country next spring, fresh off the huge announcement for Bash In Berlin later in the summer.

As well as Backlash at the LDLC Arena on Saturday, May 4, fans will also be treated to SmackDown the previous night (Friday, May 3) at the same arena.

This means the epic double header will also mark the first time the blue brand’s flagship weekly show has been broadcast from France.

In a brief statement, WWE’s chief content officer Triple H – real name Paul Levesque – tweeted: ‘Another historic first for @WWE in 2024 with #WWEBacklash France… LIVE from @LDLC_Arena in Lyon-Decines on May 4. @WWEFrance’

Earlier this year, Backlash in San Juan, Puerto Rico broke records for WWE as the highest-grossing and most-viewed iteration of the event in history.
