A woman in her 70s has died after falling at Robbie Williams’ Sydney show.

The shock incident occurred at Australia’s Allianz Stadium on the opening night of the 49-year-old hitmaker’s XXV tour on November 16.

The fan’s death was confirmed on Monday by St Vincent’s Hospital where she was being treated for head injuries.

The Take That star is currently touring the globe.

The fan was taken to hospital with severe head injuries and placed into a medically induced coma after the accident.

She is thought to have been on the upper grandstand level and trying to climb over seats when she fell in what was called a ‘serious incident’.

On Friday, an ambulance service spokesperson confirmed to Sky News Australia that she was in critical condition after paramedics were called to the scene at 10.15pm.

Venues NSW confirmed in a statement: ‘This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time. The patron was attended to immediately by venue staff and a nearby guest who is a qualified medical professional.

‘Medics arrived shortly after and the patron was taken from the venue by ambulance to hospital.’

Despite the accident, the gig appears to have been a success with Robbie posting on Instagram about the concert: ‘Sydney: that was an unforgettable evening, thank you – I love you, Australia. Congratulations to Daniel and Lauren – I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Rob x.’

Robbie has not yet addressed the fall but fans thanked him for the ‘amazing’ evening, seemingly unaware of the accident.

The A-lister’s most recent show was in Brisbane, which Robbie took to social media to rave about, saying: ‘Brisbane – Gold Coast – thank you for having me for these wonderful shows. I hope to be back soon. Rob.’

Metro has reached out to Robbie’s representatives for comment.
