I wore a crop top to church and got so many dirty looks, people say it’s ‘disrespectful’ but I disagree

A FASHIONISTA has revealed that she received dirty looks when she wore a crop top to church.

People said that she was “disrespectful” for baring her midriff, but she didn’t agree.

TikToker Delphine Donie (@delphine1299) made a video about the ensemble, a zebra print top with low-rise jeans.

“Wearing a crop top to church,” she captioned the post. “They were giving me dirty looks.”

She covered her face and then gave the peace sign at the end of the nine-second video.

Delphine added a viral TikTok audio in which the person sings: “Here comes the whore.”

Some people in the comments section agreed that the outfit wasn’t appropriate.

“I’m sorry but that’s disrespectful,” reads the most popular response.

Delphine fired back: “Why? Being judgemental is disrespectful.”

“You can wear crop tops but going to church is a little too much. And you still have to respect the house of Jesus,” a second added.

But others supported Delphine’s choice of clothing.

“Church should be a safe place for oneself. So wear what u want to wear,” one said.

“I don’t feel like wearing crop tops is a sin or disrespectful to God. It fully depends on your reason for wearing them,” a fourth commented.

In a Reddit thread, an anonymous user asked if it was appropriate to wear a crop top and shorts to volunteer at church.

The top answers were from people who said the person shouldn’t have worn the skimpy outfit.

According to Christian Today, churchgoers should not dress immodestly.

“Anything that emphasizes our sexuality is inappropriate for anyone but our spouse,” they wrote. “And this goes for men as well as women.”

People were divided about whether or not it was disrespectfulTiktok/delphine1299
