Bobby Brazier could make the move from Albert Square to the West End after his Strictly Come Dancing stint.

The 20-year-old EastEnders star, who plays Freddie Slater on the BBC soap, has been impressing viewers and judges with his moves on the ballroom floor, and theatre bosses are reportedly taking note.

It’s claimed a number of artistic directors think Bobby is ‘leading man material’ after seeing his skills alongside pro partner Diane Buswell.

‘Bobby’s time on Strictly certainly hasn’t gone unnoticed by theatre bosses – they really feel he has star quality and would put bums in seats, given his huge popularity,’ a source told The Sun.

‘Bobby’s so graceful on the dancefloor they believe he wouldn’t look out of place on a big musical production, or even a play.’

However, soap fans could be missing him for even longer as he’s set to keep his dancing shoes on in the new year to take part in the Strictly live tour.

Speaking about the upcoming project, Bobby said: ‘I love dancing and I love Strictly, so what better way to continue this brilliant experience than on the live tour!

‘I’ve heard from Dianne what a blast everyone has on the road, so I can’t wait to perform with her for those huge arena crowds next year.’

Opening in Birmingham, the tour will travel to Sheffield, Newcastle, Glasgow, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester and Nottingham, before finishing the run in London in February.

Before heading onto Strictly, Bobby was asked about his future in Albert Square and insisted he would be returning once his commitments on the dancefloor were done.

‘I’m taking a break,’ he said. ‘I’ve filmed it all, and I’ll be back.’

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturday at 7.25pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
