I’m a size 16 and want the perfect pair of jeans – some of the H&M ones didn’t go past my bum… but then I found a winner

TRYING on jeans is a task most women dread, with denim rarely fitting right despite it being a wardrobe staple.

In a desperate bid to find the perfect fit, one woman tried on multiple pairs from the same store and still got rather, um, mixed results.

TikTok/@itsabinunnThe mid-size influencer shared how she’d struggled to find jeans that fit[/caption]

Like many other mid-sized women, Abi Nunn had struggled to find a decent pair of jeans – despite many shops claiming to have curve-friendly clothes.

Having shopped till she dropped in H&M though, the influencer hoped that she’d found at least one perfect pair.

Understandably, the content creator was a little hesitant to share her results on Titok and was very aware how sizing can wildly vary even in the same shop.

“This is going to be really fun and we are not going to cry,” she joked, as she showed off the variety of jeans.

Opting for a light wash denim first, Abi struggled to get the ‘standard’ jeans past her knees and was horrified by the fit of the supposed size 16 jeans.

“This is like my style of a low rise jean. I feel like this is the next trend,” she laughed, adding: “You are telling me these are a 16? You’re a big fat liar.”

Sadly though, the influencer’s video perfectly shows why clothes sizes don’t matter as going up didn’t help either.

As she slid on the size 18 jeans, the influencer knew that this pair was also being added to the returns pile.

“I can tell you these don’t fit,” she complained, with the jeans barely reaching the middle of her leg.

Though most of us would have given up by this point, Abi hilariously decided to have a dance break to get herself hyped up before trying on the next pair.

“I know the others aren’t going to fit, but we are going to humour you,” teased the content creator.

Changing up her style, Abi then tried on two pairs of high rise mum jeans and even showed off the label – demonstrating how both were meant to be her size.

Though the mum jeans were a major improvement on anything else she’d tried, the size 16s still barely skimmed her knicker line.

“The sixteens have gone up my thighs. What will the eighteens do?” she joked, before testing the final pair.

Whilst most of us would have become completely disheartened, this final H&M pair proved to be a perfect fit – much to Abi’s shock.

“Sorry. They fit,” she told her followers: “I’m gonna keep these, but I don’t want to out of spite because I know how bade the sizing is.”

Continuing, she gushed: “The fit of thee are exactly what I’ve been looking for. Make it make sense!”

It seems the influencer isn’t the only one to fall foul of the vanity sizing, with other commenters refusing to shop at the high street giant because of this issue.

For anyone feeling similarly frustrated out there, remember: clothes are meant to fit you, not the other way around!
