BBC ‘shut down’ over question to Kelsey Grammer-Aisha Nozari-Entertainment – Metro

Kelsey Grammer was asked about Donald Trump on BBC Radio 4’s Today show this week, but the question was promptly ‘shut down’.

The 68-year-old Frasier star was chatting to Justin Webb about the show’s reboot when the latter asked about Grammer’s previous support of Trump.

According to Webb, his line of questioning was interjected by a Paramount Plus PR person.

Webb asked Grammer: ‘You mentioned Roseanne [Barr] early on who had a great comeback but also was a Trump supporter. You were a Trump supporter, I’m fascinated to know if you still are?’

Grammer bluntly replied: ‘I am and I’ll let that be the end of it,’ however, Webb later revealed the A-lister was ‘happy’ to continue the discussion but Paramount put a stop to it.

After interviewing Grammer, Webb added on the show, according to the Independent: ‘I have to say, actually, Kelsey Grammer himself was perfectly happy to go on talking about it. The Paramount Plus PR people, less happy that he talked about it at some length.

‘They decided we’d had plenty of time for our interview.’

Webb further clarified: ‘I should stress that he was perfectly happy to talk about why he supports Donald Trump and still does in the forthcoming election.’

Speaking in 2019, Grammer defended Trump, calling other politicians ‘clowns’.

Stepping out to promote his musical Man of La Mancha, the actor was asked for his thoughts on Trump ‘disrupting the fabric’ of politics.

According to MailOnline, he replied: ‘I think fabric being disrupted is a good thing.

‘I don’t think Washington didn’t do us any favors for the last 50, 60 years, I think they’ve all been sort of the same party, the same bunch of clowns, the same bunch of really unpleasant people.

‘And I don’t think they’ve been helping anybody but themselves.’
