Denise Welch was at the centre of a death hoax on Sunday.

Tweets started circulating on X, formerly Twitter, towards the end of the weekend claiming the Loose Women star had died.

In response, Denise, 65, took to X herself to confirm she is in fact alive and well.

The star, who is the mum of The 1975 frontman Matty Healy, wrote: ‘I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle. Thanks for your concern.’

Denise also added three embarrassed-face emojis.

It comes after Denise revealed in a recent interview with the Guardian that she pooed herself last year while wearing cream trousers but didn’t notice.

When asked about her most embarrassing moment, Denise didn’t hold back with the honest truth.

‘S******g myself in New York last November,’ she replied, simply.

‘I was wearing cream trousers. We were going to see my son Matty and his band, the 1975, at Madison Square Garden, and I was walking through the streets, enjoying the sunshine, pretending I was in some kind of video – throwing my hat into the New York sky like Mary Tyler Moore.

‘I saw a couple of people turn and look at me. Now, although I’m not famous in New York, whenever Matty’s there I do get recognised as his mum, so I’m smiling and waving at them.

‘I went back to the hotel room and bent over to get something out of the suitcase, and my husband said: “Do you realise you’ve shat yourself?”‘

Elsewhere in Denise’s interview, she revealed that despite her recent pooping in NYC, she is the happiest she’s ever been.

Since September 2019, Denise revealed she’s been free of clinical depression. In the Q&A, she said the person she most admires is her husband, artist Lincoln Townley, for getting sober with her.

‘We anchored each other,’ the Byker Grove actor said.
