Princess Diana actors Elizabeth Debicki and Emma Corrin have joined The Crown stars celebrating the final episodes launching on Netflix.

The likes of Dominic West, who plays Charles, Prince of Wales, and Margaret Thatcher actress Gillian Anderson attended the glam event at the Royal Festival Hall in London on Tuesday.

The controversial series, which has sparked outrage from the likes of Dame Judi Dench, is coming to an end with Part Two of season six, following the aftermath of Princess Diana’s death, after the fatal car crash in Paris in 1997.

The final episodes will launch on Netflix in just days, and recreate some memorable recent moments from royal history.

Elizabeth, 33, who portrayed Princess Diana in the final series, joined Emma, 27, who starred in season four as the Princess of Wales, on the red carpet, as the pair shared a hug and posed for snaps together.

The former stunned in a silver beaded gown while Emma opted for a cream blazer and bow tie over a sheer skirt and knee length boots.

They posed alongside Dodi Fayed actor Khalid Abdalla, who made a statement on the red carpet with a ‘Return the Hostages’ and ‘End the Occupation’ message written on his palms, amid the war between Israel and Hamas.

Elizabeth later grew emotional as she reflected on her role, saying alongside members of The Crown past and present: ‘It’s been a profound privilege, an enormous privilege to play this character and to be trusted with her, so thank you.

‘And it has taught me so much as a human being and it has taught me so much as an actor.’

She continued: ‘The challenge is so enormous that you really learnt how to doyour part to try and make the show.’

She went on to praise starring alongside Khalid, saying she’s ‘so proud’ to be a part of the cast and the show.

‘It’s just been a joy.’

Speaking at the celebration, Dominic, 54, said: ‘I mean, it sounds corny, but I do feel very lucky to have been part of something which I think people will look back on as being a very major British TV show, that has its place in history.

‘(I felt) immense pressure. I mean, apart from the fact that this is a very difficult time in his life.

‘I was in this huge show that Josh O’Connor had done so brilliantly in, so ultimately, you have to forget all that and there was so much pressure, and I sort of thought, “F*** it, I’ll just have fun”.’

The future King Charles was played by Josh during seasons three and four before Dominic took over for the fifth and sixth instalment.

Lesley Manville,  who plays the Queen’s sister Princess Margaret, Countess of Snowdon, wore a sparkling black and white gown, posing alongside Imelda Staunton, who wore a bottle green two-piece suit, and Camilla actress Olivia Williams on the carpet.

Speaking of her role, she said: ‘You know, she’s such a complex, fabulous woman and having all of those layers to her.

‘I mean, we know she’s was the party girl, the wild girl, the naughty one, the rebellious one, the funny one.

‘But I’m playing her when she is still all of those things but she begins to be crushed by illness, and then at the end she’s quite lonely and lost. So it’s been terrific to play her, really terrific.’

Margaret was played by Harry Potter star Helena Bonham Carter and Napoleon actress Vanessa Kirby over the course of The Crown.

Also in attendance were  Sir Jonathan Pryce – who plays Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, during the latest season – and the actors portraying the teenage Prince Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The final episodes will see Ed McVey as Prince William and Luther Ford as Prince Harry, with Meg Bellamy taking on the role of the Princess of Wales, when she meets the Prince of Wales at the University of St Andrews.

In images recently released teasing the final instalment, the future married couple are shown to be growing closer while at university, as the series will delve into their love story.

The Crown season 6 part 2 launches on Netflix on December 14.
