I was left mortified at the state of my £200 designer trousers by the end of the night, I only had my purse for decency

A FITNESS enthusiast has shared how she had to use her mini handbag for decency after her posh Guess leather bottoms ripped during an event.

They say clothes are supposed to fit you, not you desperately trying to fit them – and unfortunately, one gym lover, Monica Meneses, learnt it the hard way.

The young woman, from Texas, the USA, had arranged to attend an event and in her head she had decided to sport posh faux leather leggings styled with a summery top.

The leggings, she later revealed in the comments, had already served her ”for a long time” – but nothing could’ve prepared for the major ”fashion malfunction” that was about to happen.

According to Monica, who calls herself as proud Taylor Swift fan, the Guess bottoms – which usually sell for around £200 – started ripping around her belly area, leaving her totally mortified.

As the top she was wearing was also cropped, there was nothing to hide the fail with, and Monica had to come up with a solution quickly.

To ensure nobody saw her tummy and her knickers hiding underneath, the foodie immediately grabbed her handbag and attempted to cover the area.

Upset and horrified by what had just happened, Monica dashed home straight away, running up the stairs as fast as she could.

Once she had made her way home, Monica changed into her workout gear and went for a gym session.

”Now I go cry on the treadmill for an hour,” the mortified fashionista chuckled in the video.

”This what I call happy fat,” she said, adding that she knew this would happen at some point.

”I had these leggings for a long time. It was only time will tell when pleather would weaken.”

Since being shared on the platform, where the food lover posts under the username @foodiefitnerd, the video has racked up almost 35k views.

Dozens of people flocked to comments, where one said: ”Oh gawd. Always carry a jacket.”

”That’s unfortunate. But you bounced back with a plan of action. Excellent!” another praised her quick thinking.

Someone else shared their horror story, writing: ”If it makes you feel better, back in high school I sat down in class and my pants button straight up popped and shot across the room and hit the wall.”

Others, meanwhile, urged Monica to not dwell on the disaster too much.

One kind-hearted social media user reminded: ”You’re not too big, your pants are just too small.”

”Baby girl don’t cry. Clothes is supposed to fit you not you fit them,” another chimed in.

”Don’t cry. You look amazing!” a TikTok fan added.
