The BBC has delivered once again, and just when we thought we’d seen all the awkward blunders of the year, another slip-up has aired.

From one presenter giving the middle finger when cameras were actually rolling, to technical glitches, background interruptions and reporters realising they were still on air, the BBC has certainly kept viewers entertained throughout the year.

This time, the X-rated error took place with a mix-up over ‘fist bumping’.

And you can imagine how that went.

As a clip aired of Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp celebrating the team winning the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup, the BBC presenter tried to explain the excitement on the pitch.

But it didn’t go to plan.

He said: ‘We saw him fisting… bumping his fists in the air there.’

While the presenter did let out a little chuckle as he recognised his mistake, he swiftly moved on to deliver the report.

The clip has now sent viewers into hysterics, with TV critic Scott Bryan resharing and writing: ‘Jürgen Klopp did what?!?’

‘A miracle he didn’t dissolve into fits of laughter after that,’ one X user, @Flutter_ish, penned.

This comes just a day after another BBC presenter recovered after an on air interruption which saw him mistaken as a market stall vendor.

On Wednesday morning journalist Ben Boulos was on location in Birmingham to report on the breaking news that inflation in the United Kingdom had fallen to 3.9 per cent in November.

As he was doing a live cross a man in a blue puffer jacket was seen walking behind him inspecting the goods on offer in the warehouse before disappearing off screen.

However soon after Ben stopped speaking to the camera and turned to the man and said: ‘I don’t work here, I’m just doing the news.’

As he said that, his colleague back in the BBC studio could be heard laughing, with Ben quickly apologising before carrying on.
