The Traitors star lands role in huge UK comedy-Ruth Lawes-Entertainment – Metro

The Traitors icon Maddy Smedley has bagged a part in a major Channel 4 comedy series.
The EastEnders actress, 31, will play a university fresher, called Sally, in two episodes in the second season of sitcom Big Boys.
Announcing the news on X, Maddy, who recently welcomed her first child, shared a picture of herself in costume – pink shorts and a matching T-shirt – and a camera operator behind the scenes.
She also published a screenshot of a DM she sent the show’s creator Jack Rooke hustling for a role and sending a link to her acting CV.
Maddy captioned the post: ‘Meet Sally, a fresher in series 2 of big boys! I was actually 6 months pregnant here!
‘Appearing in ep 2 and 4 (so don’t blink during those eps lol) – also here’s a message I sent to the writer Jack 5 years ago… god loves a hustler xx.’
Big Boys follows two mismatched boys Jack (Dylan Llewellyn) and Danny (Jon Pointing) who strike up an unlikely friendship when they’re thrown together at university.

Maddy has had several TV roles, including BBC One’s Casualty and playing a homeless character called Rita in EastEnders.
She’s also teased a return to Albert Square, revealing previously: ‘I’d love to be in EastEnders again, I loved working with them.
‘It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to me, I grew up watching the show’.

In September, Maddy celebrated a huge milestone after giving birth to her daughter Shelby Rae, who she shares with partner Tom.
Taking to social media with the adorable announcement, the Hollyoaks actress wrote: ‘Shelby Rae our little girl – feel so lucky – 23.09.23 – 6lb 3 🎈💫.’
Meanwhile, after the triumphant success of The Traitors’ debut, it is returning for a second season in the New Year.

While details are being kept under wraps, for now, presenter Claudia Winkleman previously revealed a major plot twist for its second outing.
Speaking in a Q&A ahead of its premiere, Claudia was probed for hints on what’s new.
‘I wish I could,’ she replied. ‘I think I’m allowed to say the armoury has gone and now there’s a kitchen. That’s it!’
