BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood has married partner Steve Randall in a gorgeous Christmas wedding.

The weather presenter, 61, revealed in 2022 she was engaged to ex-police officer Steve, 48, after he popped the question while on holiday.

She has now revealed she and Steve tied the knot on Christmas week, with their wedding taking place on Wednesday, December 27.

Announcing the news on BBC Breakfast, she said it was ‘the most perfect and romantic and intimate wedding.

‘We are both so incredibly happy.’

BBC Breakfast also shared their congratulations to the happy couple with a post on Instagram, sharing snaps from the wedding which showed Carol and Steve beaming at cameras.

In the snaps, Carol looks beautiful in a white dress and holding a bouquet of white roses, her blonde hair in a loose updo, as Steve cuddled her lovingly.

They wrote: ‘Congratulations Carol & Steve … Best wishes from your #BBCBreakfast colleagues.’

The husband and wife were showered with love from fans, who took to the comments section to offer their own congratulations.

User Cassius2011 wrote: ‘Such happy news. Gorgeous pics,’ while 25hazeydays said it was ‘fantastic news – congratulations to you both.’

Carol Elizabeth said ‘many congratulations to a beautiful couple,’ while Jules said ‘beautiful photos … congratulations to you both best wishes for a long and happy marriage.’

Carol and Steve have been together since 2021, with Steve getting down on one knee in May last year.

She announced their engagement on-air on BBC Breakfast, after colleague Sally Nugent addressed her engagement ring while she was reporting from the Chelsea Flower Show.

‘I’m a bit concerned about how you’re standing up with a giant rock on that left hand,’ Sally joked.

‘Thank you Sal! It is rather nice,’ Carol said before blurting out: ‘I got engaged!’

Sally replied: ‘It’s the happiest news! We are so, so delighted. Congratulations.’

It is Carol’s second marriage as she was previously married to husband Jimmy Kirkwood for 18 years, before splitting in 2008.
