CNN hosts Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen were back on the booze for last night’s New Year’s Eve broadcast.
The duo were banned from drinking alcohol during the 2022 programme after a wild night the previous year, but on Sunday the pair celebrated in Times Square with a shot of tequila.
During the show, Cohen said: ‘Speaking of traditions, it’s the top of the hour.
‘We’ve been here for seven years doing this, and for most of those years – well, at the top of the hour we typically have a toast. I guess I’m just wondering, does daddy get his juice?’
Cooper, who isn’t a drinker, quipped: ‘Can daddy get his juice responsibly?’
He didn’t seem best pleased as his co-host brought out a bottle of tequila and two shot glasses.
He still joined in, but an hour later when they had their next shot, he wasn’t impressed.
Not even trying to hide his reaction to the drink, he asked: ‘Why do people do this?’
The booze ban was put in place last year after 2021 New Year’s Eve broadcast caused some controversy.
Former CNN anchor Don Lemon appeared via video link from New Orleans with a drink in hand, insisting haters could ‘kiss my behind’.

Cohen also shocked some viewers with a boozy rant aimed at the likes of Ryan Seacrest, Mark Zuckerberg and then-New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.
The next day, the presenter tweeted: ‘🌧 good morning! 🌧. Um, I was a bit overserved last night…. 🥴’
Then-CEO of the network Chris Licht decided to put a ban in place, with a spokesperson admitting Cohen’s rant against de Blasio crossed the line, adding: ‘Andy said something he shouldn’t have on live TV.’
Last year, the pair were given ‘mystery’ alcohol-free shots as they tried to identify the drinks.

In November, Cohen admitted he didn’t know if new CEO Mark Thompson would be reversing the booze band, but he made a very public plea.
He told E! News: ‘I haven’t heard anything yet, but come on, they need to let us drink. It’s New Year’s Eve. That didn’t go well last year in terms of viewer happiness about us drinking.
‘People really cared and I hope CNN gives the people what they want.’
