Forest Whitaker’s ex-wife Keisha’s cause of death revealed-Rachael O'Connor-Entertainment – Metro

Actress Keisha Nash-Whitaker’s cause of death has been revealed.

The mother-of-three, who is the ex-wife of Forest Whitaker, died in December at the age of 51.

Her daughter True, who she shared with filmmaker Whitaker, broke the news at the time with a devastating statement.

It has now been confirmed that Nash-Whitaker died from alcoholic liver disease, with acute renal failure also playing a significant factor in her death.

A death certificate seen by TMZ states that the actor had suffered from the liver disease for four years before her death.

The star, who also worked as a model for 15 years, died at Northridge Hospital Medical Centre in LA in December.

She met ex-husband, actor and filmmaker Whitaker on the set of 1994 film Blown Away, where they played on-screen lovers.

They went on to tie the knot two years later in Montego Bay, before welcoming two daughters together – Sonnet and True.

The Black Panther actor is also dad to son Ocean, while the actress shares daughter Autumn from a previous relationship.

Their relationship wasn’t to last and Whitaker filed to end things in 2018, after 22 years of marriage.

Daughter True shared the news of her mother’s death in December, posting on Instagram with a selection of photos beside a heart-wrenching tribute.

‘Goodbye mommy. I love you 4ever and beyond,’ she began. ‘The most beautiful woman in the world…

‘Thank you for teaching me every single thing I know. I’ll see you in my dreams and I’ll feel you in my heart.’

Nash-Whitaker was also known for her work on projects including Kassim the Dream and Proud.
