I saved over £1.3k by buying everything in charity shops – I nabbed designer items & viral Adidas trainers on the cheap

A BARGAIN hunter has revealed that in 2023, she saved over £1,300 buy buying everything in charity shops. 

Kavita, a fashion fan and savvy shopper from London, shared that not only did she buy viral Adidas trainers for just £12.75, but she also nabbed items from Alexa Chung’s designer collection with Marks & Spencer.

If that wasn’t enough, the self-proclaimed ‘charity shop queen’ also nabbed homeware items and sold-out fashion pieces too. 

Posting on social media, Kavita claimed: “Girl math tells me I had to spend money to save money.”

The brunette beauty then showed off her bargain buys and said: “I saved £1,310.75 by shopping in charity shops this year [2023] and here is how.

“I found an Alexa Chung jogger set for £7, which retails for £406 brand new, saving me £399.

“I got this puffer coat by Mango for £15, but brand new and sold out at £90, it saved me £75. 

“I got a brand new and unopened Ember mug for £6, which retails for £150 – a saving of £144.

“I bought an Alexa Chung and M&S Collaboration khaki trench which was £15, but resells for £225 online, saving me £210.”

Not only this, but Kavita also nabbed a candle burner, as well as a sold out jumper and a vintage designer bag, as she continued: “A hand shaped candle burner I thrifted and then transformed, costing £20 altogether. It retails for £185 – a saving of £165.

“I bought these Adidas Sambas for £12.75 at the charity shop, which are £75 brand new – a saving of £62.25.

“A Crosley player for £13 which is usually £100 – saving £87. 

“A Never Fully Dressed jumper for £5.50, which is sold out everywhere but retails for £80 brand new – a saving of £74.50.

“I bought a vintage Coach bag for only £6, which resells for £100 online, saving £94.

“Which means I saved £1,310.75 shopping second-hand in 2023.” 

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @shewearsfashion, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 74,000 views.

Social media users were stunned at Kavita’s cheap finds and were eager to express this in the comments. 

One person said: “Which charity shops do you go to please?”

To this, Kavita confirmed: “I go all over!! London, Sheffield, Harrogate.”

Another added: “Love this!” 

A third commented: “Yes yes and YES… the gems I find in charity shops and thrifting are amazing – so happy for you with these finds.” 

At the same time, someone else penned: “I just can’t with the smells of charity shops.”

To this, Kavita claimed: “Well then you’re missing out on some bargains! Also none of the ones I go to smell.”
