WWE fans were scared after a match was suddenly halted live on air due to an apparent injury.

Giovanni Vinci looked to suffer a concussion as he teamed with his Imperium partner Ludwig Kaiser against Kofi Kingston and Jey Uso on last night’s Monday Night Raw: Day One special.

At one point, the Italian superstar got rocked by a dropkick from Kofi, which saw him immediately drop to the mat.

A doctor slid into the ring to check on him right away, and the referee quickly stopped the match out of concern for his well being.

While it appears the stoppage and injury scare was legitimate, Giovanni has since taken to social media to give a positive update on his condition.

‘Sto bene. Grazie mille 🙏🏼,’ he wrote on X in Italian, which translates to ‘I am fine. A thousand thanks’.

Before his tweet, fans had expressed concern for his wellbeing, with many admitting they were scared by what went down while praising WWE for stopping the match when they did.

‘That drop kick to Giovanni Vinci looked bad it’s a good thing the Match was called off scary situation I hope Vinci is ok and gets better #WWERaw #WWEDay1,’ wrote viewer @PeralezZachary.

Fan account @wrestleview added: ‘Scary moment involving Giovanni Vinci. Great call by WWE to just stop the match and not let it go any further. That replay looked nasty. The GREAT news is that Vinci did walk off under his own power. #WWERaw’

And fan @muzza_316 said: ‘Scary moment for Giovanni Vinci with that dropkick. Just shows that as professional as these WWE Superstars are, accidents happen. Hope he is ok. #WWERaw’

Thankfully, it appears Giovanni – who was able to walk away from the ring without needing to be stretchered out – hasn’t suffered any lasting damage.

Despite the unsettling nature of the incident itself, it looks like while he was in bad way at the time, the injury wasn’t as severe as originally feared.

WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on TNT Sports 1.
