Married At First Sight star Chanita Stephenson has been left heartbroken following the death of her mother.

Chanita, who appeared on the Channel 4 dating series last year, announced the news on social media on Wednesday.

Sharing a series of photos of them together, the 32-year-old reality star expressed her devastation.

‘Chondelle Stephenson better known as my strong, beautiful, funny, intelligent, caring, courageous mother,’ she captioned the post.

‘I miss you so much already.’

Chondelle had made a brief appearance on MAFS as she supported her daughter on her wedding day.

While Chanita had married Jordan on the dating series and they had made it to the final decision before deciding to try and make their relationship work away from the cameras, he dumped her almost immediately after filming finishing.

The couple ended all contact despite their promising start.

During the reunion episode, Jordan admitted that he still had feelings for Chanita, but during an appearance on Unveiled was called out by hosts AJ Odudu and Judi Love for ending their relationship over FaceTime.

‘When we came out of the experiment, Jordan’s efforts changed significantly,’ Chanita began to host AJ.

‘I could just see that his heart wasn’t in it, and then he finished with me over FaceTimed, and then I knew,’ she continued.

‘I want somebody that values me for me and wants to fight for me, and thinks I’m great!’ she added at the time.

When Jordan was called on FaceTime in front of the live studio audience, he shared: ‘Sometimes I don’t think things through properly.’

A source previously told the Mail Online that despite their spark, he ‘no longer seemed interested’.

‘Once filming for the series had ended, Jordan took a step back, and stopped messaging her completely – Chanita was heartbroken,’ they added.

While they indicated during the reunion episode they might be getting back together, Chanita told The Sun in November that she was ‘single’.

Married At First Sight is streaming on Channel 4.
