WWE and TNA Wrestling could be lining up a special announcement this week to kick off 2024 with a bang.

The two companies – which have done business in the past, with Mickie James entering the 2022 Royal Rumble while holding the Knockouts Championship – have got people talking on social media as Hard To Kill approaches on January 13 with the switch back from IMPACT to the original TNA branding.

WWE is becoming more open to working with other promotions, with William Regal’s son Charlie Dempsey currently on a run with All Japan Pro Wrestling despite being part of the NXT roster.

This could open the door for more collaborations, and while nothing is close to being confirmed, fans have spotted some potential clues.

Fans have been sharing what seems to be a new advert for the relaunch of TNA+, which refers to pay-per-views as ‘premium live events’ – a term that thus far has only really been used by WWE when referring to its big monthly shows.

On Thursday (January 4), the WWE Preview Special 2024 will air on the same night as the weekly IMPACT show, and fans have been promised a major announcement from boss Triple H.

Interestingly, the next day TNA+ will relaunch on Endeavor Streaming, adding another layer to the whole situation.

Perhaps coincidentally, the platform is owned by Endeavor, which officially acquired WWE in September as part of the merger with UFC under the new TKO banner.

‘This is truly an incredible opportunity for us as we forge into an exciting new chapter of the TNA legacy,’ TNA Wrestling President Scott D’Amore commented last month.

‘We are proud to partner with Endeavor Streaming on this initiative, and we look forward to continuing to provide our fans with the absolute best in new, classic and exclusive professional wrestling content, available to them anywhere, anytime, on their favorite devices, when TNA+ launches on January 5.’

The first PLE back under the TNA branding will be Hard To Kill on January 13, and the company previously teased some big surprises for the special event.

‘Worlds will collide on January 13th,’ the tagline reads, before promising: ‘You won’t believe who is showing up!’

Fans don’t have long to wait to find out, with Triple H’s announcement coming this week and the PLE to follow.
