Usually Rita Ora is dropping jaws with her fashion forward outfits but her latest Instagram post has sparked outrage as she promoted an expensive scan.

The 33-year-old Masked Singer judge shared some snaps getting the Prenuvo scan, which is said to provide early detection for more than 500 cancers and diseases.

She shared how she got the groundbreaking MRI scan as a preventative measure but that health check comes with a whopping $2,499 (£1,968) price tag.

This is the same scan none other than Kim Kardashian came under fire for promoting in August last year, with fans slamming her for it.

£2k is probably a drop in the water for Kim or Rita, whose net worth was estimated at around $30 million in 2023 – possibly helped by her recent Primark collaboration.

Rita explained she was ‘being proactive’ with her health after her mum, Vera, had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

She wrote: ‘With my mum’s history of breast cancer, being proactive and not reactive with physical health has alway been so important to me. I’m a huge believer in doing anything I can to keep myself healthy and learn about my body.

‘So recently i went to @prenuvo to get a full body scan. I was so impressed by the incredible technology and the Prenuvo doctors who talked me through my results, and advised me on what i can do to take care of myself better.

‘I was walked through every step with support and guidance. Thank you so much guys.’

She tagged the caption with ‘#prenuvopartner’ to indicate this was an advert for a partnership, meaning the brand asked her to promote their scan.

Fans immediately slammed the For You hitmaker for pushing something we ‘mere mortals’ cannot afford, especially when it’s being touted as a medical must.

‘Arent you lucky Rita Ora that you can just get this done 🙌🤬’ expressed angry follower Talia.

Ste Wardman scathed: ‘Your fans can’t afford this but good for you, eh?’

‘But how much did that cost?! us mere mortals probably couldn’t afford that luxury 😢,’ commented Ralph.

‘Wow, advertising proactive scans for the wealthy and privileged, a full body MRI is something the vast majority of people can’t afford,’ questioned Claire Williams, who also asked if Rita paid for it at all.

A disappointed Karen Kellend agreed: ‘Forgetting who her fans are? I suppose we are all in different worlds on the same planet.’

The Prenuvo scan has previously been slammed as tone deaf from wealthy stars (Picture: Rita Ora/Instagram)

Some did support Rita’s intention behind getting the scan but pointed out that this exclusive scan is not available outside of the US (or Rita’s wealth bracket).

Despite her time in the US with her famous husband, Taika Waititi, the Poison singer still is best known in the UK rather than overseas so many fans would not be able to access this without the additional flight cost to the States.

Rita didn’t address the backlash and reshared the post on her story – promoting her discount code with Prenuvo which gives you $300 off.

Her mum Vera also commented and supportively said: ‘Prevention is the key ❤️🙌👏.’ reached out to Rita’s representatives for comment.
