Michelle Keegan has been ‘inundated’ with offers from Hollywood after impressing with her latest role in the smash-hit Netflix thriller Fool Me Once.

The actress, 36, starred on Coronation Street for six years from 2008, then going on to appear in other shows including Our Girl, Ordinary Lies, Brassic and Ten Pound Poms.

But it is her latest role in the Netflix series based on Harlan Coben’s novel of the same name that has seen her capture the attention of showbiz executives.

In the eight-part show, Michelle plays ex-military pilot Maya Stern who believes she sees her dead husband on her nanny-cam, setting in action a shocking string of events as she attempts to piece together the mystery.

After viewers admitted they were so hooked by the series they were considering ‘calling in sick’ to work to binge all of the episodes, Michelle is now said to be getting ‘inundated with movie scripts and proposals for potential new roles’.

‘The response to Fool Me Once has been overwhelming,’ a source has said.

‘The phone calls and offers have been coming in from Hollywood film executives, it’s different to anything Michelle has experienced before.

‘Netflix is a global platform, and the show has given her the opportunity to shine,’ they added when speaking to Mail Online.

‘Her career has already been a success but now her star is rising, everyone can feel that this is the beginning of something special,’ they continued.

During a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show Michelle admitted she feared never working again after her character Tina was killed off in Coronation Street.

‘For me [Coronation Street] was a massive learning platform. I took a long, long time to decide to leave – it was very hard,’ she shared.

‘And then when they told me they were killing off my character and there was no going back I thought I would never work again.

‘My security was ripped away which made me push forward and work harder.’ has contacted representatives for Michelle Keegan for comment.

Fool Me Once is streaming on Netflix.
