A singing Piranha in pyjamas? It could only be The Masked Singer.

Judges Rita Ora, Mo Gilligan, Davina McCall, and Jonathan Ross were utterly baffled when the timid character stepped out onto the stage and let out the most impressive vocals.

Performing It’s All Coming Back to Me Now by Celine Dion for their Masked Singer debut, the panel admitted to being ‘speechless’ and even declared Pirahna the ‘best vocalist’ on the show this year.

That doesn’t mean they were confident with their guesses, however.

The likes of Jamie Cullum and even Sting were thrown into the mix by the panel, but viewers were also left scratching their heads over the fishy star’s identity.

So, thinking caps on, let’s delve into all the clues and theories surrounding Piranha…

What clues are there for Piranha’s identity?

‘The motion (of being underwater) makes me a little sick’ – is it someone who travels a lot?

Brazilian Portuguese English dictionary, a sketchbook, a guidebook to fish in the Amazon.

Someone who is very shy and scared, said they were ‘terrified’ of the panel heading them sing.

‘Piranhas are hungry, piranhas do bite, but I’d rather munch popcorn on this special night.’

Who could Piranha on The Masked Singer be?

Singer-songwriter and radio presenter Jamie Cullum was Rita Ora’s initial guess after hearing Piranha’s epic vocal talents.

‘I’m speechless. I think it’s one of the best vocalists we have on this whole show right now,’ she praised.

‘Just based off the vocal, it sounded a bit like Jamie Cullum to me.’

Jamie, 44, is best known as an English jazz-pop singer, songwriter, and radio presenter.

Although primarily a vocalist and pianist, he also plays guitar and drums with nine studio albums to his name.

Listen, it’s The Masked Singer, anything could happen.

Mo Gilligan threw a rogue guess out there after listening closely to Piranha’s accent.

Of course, contestants have been known to fake their voices in the past, but the panel picked up on twinges of Americanisms, such as Piranha’s pronunciation of ‘water.’

‘It could be someone who is British but they spend a lot of time in America,’ Mo noted.

‘An English man in New York, piranhas bite you, they sting, it could be Sting.’

Sting, 72, definitely has the vocals, but does that mean he is Piranha?

While the judges weren’t confident at all with their guesses, viewers at home reckon McFly star Danny Jones is behind Piranha’s mask.

Taking to X following their Masked Singer debut, viewers put forward plenty of evidence, saying they wouldn’t be shocked if the mask came off and Danny was underneath.

Many said it was ‘obvious’, with clues referring to McFly travelling to America, and the motion sickness being a nod to McFly’s Motion in the Ocean album.
