‘You can thank me later’ woman says as she shows off bizarre 5p foil hack she swear by to keep warm when it’s freezing

A THRIFTY mum has revealed how you can keep warm thanks to a rather bizarre foil hack this winter – and others say it works with plastic bags too.

After a few warmer weeks, the temperatures have plummeted once again, with snow falling across London and south of England.

If you, like many parents in the UK, are dreading the chilly morning school runs, then best keep reading, as one savvy mum has come to rescue with a handy heat hack to stay toasty.

Instead of drowning in layers of layers of thick clothing, TikTok user @tiger_lee_uk demonstrated how basic kitchen foil can tackle the freezing weather.

According to Tiger Lee, who claimed that wearing thermal socks was never ”enough” for her, the cheap tricks works like a charm and she’s no longer shivering in the mornings.

”I never had a cold feet and hands during winter while doing school run.”

So, what’s the solution? Well, as she shared in the video, it’s pretty straightforward and takes just minutes.

Once you’ve got your cosy socks on, grab a large sheet of regular kitchen foil and wrap it around your feet before putting the boots on – yes, you read that right.

The very same process, Tiger Lee proudly shared to her 114k followers on the platform, is then repeated for your hands – simply cut smaller bits of the foil and wrap your fingers with it.

Once done, slide into your gloves and voila – no more freezing hands!

”My feet are always numb in winter and this helps me a lot.

”Do this and thank me later!”

According to experts, the kitchen staple reflects ”heat back towards the source” – and people also use it behind their radiators and even hot water bottles to keep their beds hot all night long.

Don’t have any foil left? No worries – fellow social media users claimed that using plastic bags worked just as well.

Dozens of TikTok lovers raced to comments to share their thoughts and thank the thrifty mum.

One said: ”I did this in the 1984 when walking my daughter to and from school. Also did it at night to keep warm. Well done for putting this out there.”

”I will try this – as my feet get cold n swollen in the winter,” someone else chimed in.

However, not everyone will be racing to give it a go, as some were also rather sceptical.

One, for instance, reckoned the hack might cause some issues and awkward moments when travelling.

”Me, at the airport security, being asked to take my boots off.”

”Then the feet smell will be very stinky,” someone else wasn’t entirely sold on the idea either.
