The wait for more episodes of The Traitors season 2 has felt agonising since its launch – but murdered star Kyra has revealed some juicy information in the meantime.

Last week, the return of the BBC series with Claudia Winkleman at the helm proved a huge hit from the outset, with standout characters including stern Faithful Diane and devious Traitor Paul.

It was revealed that Paul, Ash and Harry had been chosen as the Traitors, before they recruited unassuming veterinary nurse Miles to join their ranks.

After Aubrey became the first Faithful to be murdered and Sonja was banished by the group for wrongly arousing suspicion, Kyra was then also murdered in the dead of the night… and she’s told Metro.co.uk that Harry spread a false rumour about her before her exit.

The 21-year-old explained that she hadn’t considered Paul as a Traitor in the slightest, having previously said that she would trust him with all of her most prized possessions if she had to choose between the contestants.

The apprentice economist figured out that Ash was a Traitor as she made her secret identity ‘very obvious’ – but as for Harry, Kyra suspected that he could be a Traitor due to the lie he spread around the castle about her and another competitor.

‘Harry in the short time that I was there, he created a rumour. He said that me and Jaz were like best friends,’ Kyra revealed. ‘I said we genuinely don’t know each other.’

The murdered star outlined how it was tricky to shake the rumour off, as it was different to Zack theorising that Diane and Paul could be mother and son, when in truth Diane’s son was actually Ross.

‘When you have a rumour like that come around about you, and it’s genuinely not true… I think for Diane and Ross, it gave her a heads up because people didn’t suspect Ross. So it was kind of funny for her and she could play on it,’ Kyra shared, comparing the two situations.

‘But for me and Jaz, it’s like, how can I shift this rumour? The fact that [Harry] was capable of… he kind of started it and I was just like, where did this come from?’ she stated.

‘It was like, oh, I see that you’re a bit messy. So that’s why I knew he was probably capable – but again very likeable. very likeable indeed.’

When Kyra was first applying to go on The Traitors, she considered the idea of competing with her sister – speculating that if her sibling had gone on and been chosen as a Traitor, she likely would have had a better chance of survival.

So given she now knows that Diane and Ross are related, did she have a feeling about any other relationships among the contestants?

‘It’s probably not likely now, but I suspected either Evie and Ross, or Evie and Brian to have a relationship because they’re both from Scotland and they’re very close. I just don’t know honestly,’ she answered.

‘Even the Diane and Ross thing threw me, so I just don’t know what the series is even capable of now.’

As for who could be the next person to be sent home, Kyra reckons Ash might be on the chopping block, especially after the Traitor’s giveaway behaviour on the show.

Addressing whether she suspected the original three Traitors of treachery, she said: ‘Paul I was genuinely so shocked. Ash I knew, Harry I thought yeah he was capable. But Paul? Never. I would never have suspected him.’

Outlining why she thinks that Ash has a strong likelihood of going out next, she continued: ‘On the roundtable, even if she doesn’t get voted off this time, I think that her time’s coming to an end soon.’

Kyra previously had her eye on Ash due to the way that the Traitor was asking people questions after the first challenge on their car journey.

‘The way she asked questions and the way she goes about it, it’s like she’s trying to suss you out a bit. It seems like it’s fishing,’ she recollected.

Kyra admitted that she was ‘a bit more reserved’ when being considered by Claudia to become a Traitor, as a warning from her sister made her feel worried about appearing ‘unemployable’ after the show.

‘That was at the back of my head and that made me a bit more reserved in terms of convincing Claudia why I wanted to be a Traitor,’ she shared, adding that now, she would have approached it thinking: ‘Why not?’

Fortunately for her, her boss is a huge fan of The Traitors and was massively excited when they found out she’d joined the cast.

The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer with new episodes released on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
