It didn’t take long for the PS5 Slim to get its own covers for both the console and its controller, but they don’t come cheap.
During its presentation at the CES trade show this week, Sony was happy to reveal that more people used its PlayStation consoles in December than at any other time in history.
A display has been spotted of the new PlayStation 5 Slim console and controller covers at the conference in Las Vegas, showcasing the colours Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
The covers come in a metallic finish and looks less glossy than the original PlayStation 5 faceplates.
There’s no release date yet, but the console covers will cost around £45 when they finally come out,.
The covers are part of the ongoing Deep Earth Collection, which also includes faceplates for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition.
On the PlayStation store site, the collection offers the following colourful description:
‘Enrich your gaming setup with a refined metallic finish for your PS5 console.
Inspired by the powerful hues found in the depths of our planet.’
There are currently 10 unique covers on sale for the older PlayStation 5 model and the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition. So, it’s not surprising that Sony has decided to offer the same customisation for its newest console.
The Slim console came out in late November, with the only difference being that it’s slightly smaller and has a bit more storage space than the original PlayStation 5, plus you can change disc drives between consoles.
