I’m officially old,’ millennials are left reeling as brand brings back early-2000s jewelry trend

JEWELRY can be timepieces but one brand brought back memories for millenials.

A rising fashion trend brought early ’00s Italian jewelry back into the mainstream and with it, nostalgia.

The brand Italian Charms (@originalcharms) shared a video with over 20,000 TikTok followers.

The brand demonstrated how to assemble the silver bracelet, pouring a pile of links out onto a surface.

Pulling open a large link chain, the demonstrator hooked the links onto the hack for a personalized piece.

She added a charm onto the front of each link for a decked-out bracelet.

The Italian charm bracelet, also known as a Nomination bracelet, typically comprises 18 charm links, each with a unique face or design.

The jewelry was popularized by the Italian brand Nomination, which became a huge fad in the U.S. in the early 2000s.

In 2023, the resurgence of the bracelets in the mainstream was catapulted by Love Island contestant Anna-May Robey, who wore the bracelet on her wrist throughout Season 9 of the show.

Millennials were shocked to see the return of one of their childhood relics.

“Nomination bracelets making a comeback? I’m old, I fear,” said one viewer.

“I can’t believe these are back in style, I’m officially old,” agreed another.

Others were simply happy to reflect on all the memories the bracelet held for them.

“I’d buy this and everywhere I go like a new country, buy a charm that remembers me from that country or a charm that makes me think of someone,” said one viewer.
