Ariana Grande drops scathing lyric to critics of her love life in new single-Alistair McGeorge-Entertainment – Metro

Ariana Grande has unleashed an absolutely scathing response to people criticising her love life.

The 30-year-old star – whose relationship with Ethan Slater has been marred with controversy since whispers of their romance began – has fired back in new single yes, and? as she urges people to simply mind their own business.

The track dropped today, and the lyrics show Ariana at her defiant best.

Later in the song, she sings: ‘My face is sitting, I don’t need no disguise. Don’t comment on my body, do not reply. Your business is yours, and mine is mine. Why do you care so much whose d**k I ride?’

Earlier in the track, the pop megastar has another firm message for her naysayers.

‘Now I’m so done with caring what you think,’ she belts out. ‘No I won’t hide underneath your own projections or change my most authentic life.’

And in the anthemic chorus, Ariana urges listeners to embrace her mantra and focus on being their ‘own f***ing best’.

She sings: ‘”Yes, and?” Say that s**t with your chest, and be your own f***ing best. Friend say that s**t with your chest, keep moving like “what’s next?” “Yes, and?” ‘

Before this week, the No Tears Left To Cry star had not released any solo music for three years, with her most recent track being 2021’s Just Look Up from the Don’t Look Up soundtrack.

She also stormed the charts with Lady Gaga when they dropped their 2020 collaboration Rain On Me, but things have been quiet on the music front since then as Ariana focused on her acting career.

Even before the track dropped, fans were losing their mind over just the promise of new music.

‘WARRRR IS OVER. I SURVIVED THE ARIANA GRANDE DROUGHT,’ X user Loveianguge wrote,’ while Simplykinsley said they were ‘feeling blessed and highly favored.’

And fan Danny hailed: ‘POP MUSIC IS SAVEDDD LIKE EVERYONE CHEERED.’

When it comes to her critics, Ariana has fired back after her shock split from Dalton Gomez was revealed in July and just days later rumours surfaced that Ariana was romantically involved with her Wicked co-star Ethan.

Soon after, Ethan filed for divorce from his wife Lilly, with whom he has a 13-month-old son.

Ariana and Ethan are now rumoured to be living together in NYC, with a source recently telling Us Weekly: ‘Ethan informed his friends and soon-to-be ex-wife that he’s living with Ariana full-time in New York. They’re really happy and really good for each other. All of her friends love him.’
