This week, singer Taylor Swift, 34, sparked a frenzy at a small British fashion label after she was pictured wearing one of its dresses.

By the following morning, the £58, olive green, Sweet Jane mini from Perthshire store Little Lies was out of stock.

Designer Jade Robertson said she was “completely gobsmacked” by the reaction, adding: “We had no idea she even had the dress.

“It turns out she’d placed the order for it herself, ordered it and paid for it.”

PR guru to the stars Neil Reading explained: “Some celebrities can turn anything to gold.

“That’s why so many brands are keen to have their endorsements.”

Divorced Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are the undisputed king and queen of fashion influence.

The 43-year-old mum’s 2020 collection of her shapewear line SKIMS, including a £74 bodysuit, was all gone in less than a minute.

And her rapper ex, 46, saw his £160 Adidas Yeezy 450 trainers in cloud white sell out in under 60 seconds in March 2021.

When Kate Middleton, 42, the Princess of Wales, wore a £385 blue wrap silk-jersey dress from Issa to announce her 2010 engagement to Prince William, it took just five minutes to empty stores of supplies.

Meanwhile, at the height of her popularity in 2017, Meghan Markle, 42, carried a £525 Strathberry midi tote bag to an official visit to Nottingham. It sold out in 11 minutes.

Supermodel Kate Moss, 49, sported a £100 panther claw-print mini dress from her Topshop Collection in 2008, which flew off the shelves within 15 minutes.

The black frock is currently listed on eBay for £200.

Fans of Dancing On Ice’s Holly Willoughby love having a twirl in some of her sexiest outfits.

It took just 20 minutes for a £60 leather skirt from Monsoon, worn by the 42-year-old on This Morning in 2019, to sell out.

When Beyonce, 42, saw her sportswear brand Ivy Park team up with Adidas in 2020, the range of hoodies and tracksuits was snapped up within two hours of launch.

And after Rihanna, 35, wore a £2,275 red Loewe jumpsuit for her halftime Super Bowl performance last year, stock vanished in a day.

Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague sent fans racing to the Pretty Little Thing website in September when she was pictured in a £60 corset top and matching trousers.

The items were gone in 24 hours.

Now that’s definitely fast fashion.
