Woman finds ‘beautiful’ blazer in Matalan that’s perfect for work – and she got it for £27 cheaper than full-price
BLAZERS have become big news over the last few years.
They’re a staple in every fashionista’s wardrobe; be it cropped or thigh-length, oversized or fitted, patterned or plain.

And while most of us would turn to Marks & Spencer or Mango for our double-breasted fix, there’s a budget store producing the chic garments – Matalan.
Just ask shopper Caroleanne Wilson, who picked up a £38 black and white chequered blazer for just £11.50.
After nabbing the statement piece in Matalan’s Livingston store, she took to Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK to alert others of her style steal.
People were quick to dub the design “beautiful” and a “right bargain” for £26.50 cheaper than the retail price.
The average women’s blazer in Matalan costs £30, with premium materials seeing prices rise between £35 and £40.
Colourful blazers were a major trend in the late noughties, with the craze evolving over the last 15 years.
Now, they’re a staple with everything.
That includes Molly-Mae Hague’s popularisation of styling an oversized blazer with leggings and trainers.
Matalan has a whopping 230 stores in the UK and 49 International franchise stores in Europe and the Middle East.
Each one has its own offering of blazers, but there’s around 20 designs to choose from online if you can’t reach a store.
“From the day Matalan started back in 1985, to today, over 30 years on, Matalan’s mission has always stayed the same,” bosses said.
“To provide outstanding quality and value for modern families.
“Matalan takes time to listen, understand and evolve to fit changing modern family needs.
“Always with an emphasis on providing the highest quality clothing and homeware for the lowest price.
