Tearful Succession star Kieran Culkin puts wife on the spot during Emmys acceptance speech-Meghna Amin-Entertainment – Metro

Succession star Kieran Culkin used his Emmys acceptance speech as the perfect opportunity to put his wife on the spot.

The Roman Roy actor, 41, won the lead actor award for his role in the HBO series, which came to an end after the fourth season.

As his win was announced, Kieran, the younger brother of Home Alone star Macaulay Culkin, kissed his co-star Brian Cox on the lips before making his way to the stage for his acceptance speech.

He used the time to give a shout out to his ‘beautiful wife’, saying: ‘Thank you for sharing your life with me and for giving me two amazing kids.’

As the camera turned to his tearful wife Jazz Charton, who he married in 2013, Kieran added: ‘And Jazz, I want more. You said maybe, if I win.’

The couple are already proud parents to daughter Kinsey Soux, four, and two-year-old son Wilder Wolf.

Elsewhere in the ceremony, which saw Succession score a total of six Emmys alongside Jeremy Allen White-starring Netflix comedy The Bear, Kieran’s co-star Matthew Macfadyen was named best supporting actor in a drama series, while Sarah Snook thanked her young daughter during a speech after winning best lead actress in the same category.

Shiv Roy actress Sarah, 36, unveiled her baby bump at the premiere of Succession season four, where she shared her excitement at becoming a mum for the first time.

‘The biggest thank you, I think though, is to someone who won’t understand anything that I’m saying at the moment, but I carried her with me in this last season and really it was her who carried me,’ she said last night.

‘It’s very easy to act when you’re pregnant because you’ve got hormones raging and it was more that the proximity of her life growing inside me gave me the strength to do this and this performance.

‘I love you so much and it’s all for you from here on out.’

The show’s creator and director, Jesse Armstrong, won best writing for a drama series and thanked the ‘creative community in the US’.

‘Thank you to the wider creative community in the US,’ he said.

‘I come from the UK and the show is about things that are close to the centre of American life and politics and we’ve always been met with generosity and good faith and that’s part of America’s tradition of being very welcoming to outsiders and it’s very nice.

‘And for some reason, the name of Australian-born media mogul Rupert Murdoch comes to mind. I can’t speak for him but I am very grateful for the generosity I’ve been shown working in this country – it was a great sadness to end this show but it was a great pleasure.’

‘Thank you to Brian Cox (who) this show was revolved around, whether he was in it or not,’ he also said, during his acceptance speech for the show’s sixth win, best drama series.

‘This is a show about family, but it also about when partisan news coverage gets intertwined with divisive right wing politics, and after four season of satire, as I understand it that is a problem we have now fixed.

‘We are so honoured, we have loved making this show.’

Kieran elsewhere revealed his Golden Globe currently sits between his kids’ Sesame Street stuffed animals.

He told Variety on the red carpet: ‘My kids have these two little stuffies of Bert and Ernie, so the Globe is currently between Bert and Ernie.’

Meanwhile, Kieran previously admitted that he sees fatherhood as his number one priority in life.

He told Esquire magazine: ‘I feel like what I’m supposed to do is be a stay-at-home dad.

‘That’s where I feel like I’m the most me. And anything that takes me away from that is wrong.’
