I’m 5ft & ordered a House of CB dress for a work party – it was tiiiight but at least my boobs looked good

A FASHIONISTA was left panicking about what to wear for a work party after a dress she bought online unexpectedly failed.

She revealed it was her first time buying a dress from women’s clothing retailer House of CB.

Alice (@alicelisamvlogs) is steadily growing a following on TikTok, where she shares style inspiration.

The UK-based vlogger, who is in her 20s, took to the social media platform to try on House of CB’s Ophelia midi dress in black.

The statement dress with cutout detail is sold in three different colors for $225 on the brand’s website.

She shared plans to wear the dress to an event her workplace was hosting in a week.

“I ordered from House of CB for the very first time but I ordered it through Selfridges,” she said.

“Selfridges was having a sale on some House of CB stuff and on House of CB the sale was there but it wasn’t hitting.

“This particular dress wasn’t on sale on House of CB but it was on sale on Selfridges so I saved a little bit of coin.

“I wanted to do a haul with loads of holiday, party, outfits, and dresses but realistically nobody has the coins.

“No one has the money for that.

“In this cost of living crisis trying to save money where you can.

“I’m the type of person where if I bought loads of dresses and ended up liking them I wouldn’t return them.

“I just had to make do with this one and if it doesn’t fit I don’t know what we’re going to do.”

Alice held up the dress as she revealed it wasn’t one of House of CB’s newer designs.

Having put it on, she became visibly awkward and the material looked stretched in all the wrong areas.

“Guys, it’s not looking good,” she said. “This was supposed to be an 8/10 [US 4/6].”

Alice turned around to reveal that the zipper couldn’t even go halfway up her back, although she usually wears a size UK 8 [US 4].

The 5ft fashionista was hardly able to move her arms in the tight dress and struggled to put her thoughts into words.

“My boobs look good though I think,” she said.

“This is tiny, this isn’t gonna work, this is not sexy.”

She expressed her disappointment in the caption of the post with a crying emoji.

“I’m heartbroken,” she said. “How do they expect me to dutty wine [crying]?”

Many viewers took to the comment section admitting they’ve also had problems with House of CB’s sizing.

“They run so small. I’m 5ft and even when I was a UK size 4 [US 0] I couldn’t fit in some of their dresses,” one person wrote.

“Girl the dress would have been banging if they cared about fitting,” another said.

“You gotta try their stuff on. I’m an XS in some dresses but can’t fit in a medium in others,” a third commented.
