‘You may as well go to M&S’, Primark shopper rages at the price of viral velour pjs but others say ‘they’re so worth it’

A WOMAN has been left totally stunned after going to her local Primark, only to be gobsmacked at the price tags.

Fashion and beauty fan Aaliyah Anderson headed to Primark, eager to get her hands on the viral velour pyjamas.

A fashion fan has revealed that she will no longer be shopping in Primark as a result of the pricesTikTok/@madisondelprior

Aaliyah Anderson was not only stunned to see that the viral pyjamas were £28, but she was also shocked when she found a jacket for a staggering £90TikTok/@xxaaliyahandersonxx

Similar to Skims, last year, shoppers raved about not only how stylish the pyjamas are, but also how comfy they are too.

However, Aaliyah was in disbelief when she checked the price tag of the nightwear and noticed that the long-sleeved top and bottoms were sold separately, at £14 each.

Totalling £28 for the set, Aaliyah was stunned at the prices, and claimed that she would no longer be shopping at the high-street chain.

Posting on social media, Aaliyah shared a clip showing off the nightwear, as she penned: “Was not expecting that price for pjs from Primark.”

Aaliyah later shared that the price of the pyjamas was “gutting”.

She added: “They are cute but not worth £28 from Primark.

“I think £15 seems reasonable for Primark but I just can’t push to £28 for one pair.”

Clearly not impressed, Aaliyah also explained: “You used to be able to get so much more for your money.”

Disappointed with the chain’s pricing, she then claimed: “Might as well get some M&S pjs.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @xxaaliyahandersonxx, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and has since amassed a staggering 1.4 million views.

Many social media users shared Aaliyah’s frustration, and were eager to express this in the comments.

One person said: “Since when did Primark become this expensive?”

To this, Aaliyah replied: “I know right!!”

A second added: “They have coats for 65+ I don’t understand.”

Fashion fan Aaliyah then penned: “There’s a jacket for £90!!”

A third commented: “Primark doesn’t Primark anymore.”

To which Aaliyah then agreed: “Definitely isn’t.”

At the same time, someone else claimed: “Last year they were £14 for the set.”

In response, Aaliyah wrote: “Now that’s the sort of price you’d expect to pay for Primark pjs.”

Meanwhile, another shopper explained: “I don’t even stop there anymore. People say the quality has increased with the price but I don’t think it has.”

Aaliyah then agreed: “Me either, the price has increased.”

Despite this, there were other fashionsitas who loved the velour set.

One shopper claimed: “I’m sorry but they’re so worth it, I live in mine. Soooo comfy and stretchy.”

Whilst someone else agreed: “£28 hurt me but they’re so soft. I love them.”

At the same time, many shoppers took to the comments to suggest other shops Aaliyah could find reasonably priced pyjamas.

One fashion fan advised: “Similar pair to these but more of a caramel colour in Sainsbury’s for less. I think £16 when they had 25% off.”

Another chimed in: “£28 is Next price and much better quality!”

Whilst another fashionista suggested: “Best to wait for Tesco and Sainsbury’s 25% deals.”

In response to the clip, a Primark spokesperson told Fabulous: “We work hard to offer the best value on the high street, something we know is more important than ever to our customers right now.

“From our everyday essentials, through to our Edit range which features more premium fabrics and detailed designs, we are committed to offering great value across everything we sell.”
