Jim Carrey made a very rare appearance on social media as he celebrated his 62nd birthday in complete style, surrounded by fellow members of comedy royalty.
The Hollywood favorite has remained in the spotlight for decades thanks to his impressive film career, starring in The Mask, Dumb and Dumber, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and the Truman Show among many others.
However, he took a step back from the public eye recently, and announced that he was planning to retire in 2022 following the release of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 – instead choosing to focus on his ‘quiet life’.
After reports claimed that those closest to him were concerned over his ‘reclusive’ lifestyle, it seems as though nothing could be further from the truth as he went all out for his birthday celebrations.
In new Instagram photos, Jeff Ross gave us all a glimpse into the evening, showing Jim having the time of his life with his pals.
The birthday boy was joined at the celebration by a host of huge names – including Adam Sandler, Jimmy Kimmel, David Spade, Seth Green, Craig Robinson, Ben Schwartz and Howie Mandel.

Alongside the upload, the ‘Roastmaster’ wrote: ‘The Laugh Supper! Happy birthday Jim Carrey! We love you!’
We guess our invite got lost in the post…
Fans couldn’t get enough of the post, and flooded the comments section with praise for the gang.
‘Telling my kids this was Jesus Christ and his apostles #legendary,’ one joked.

Another agreed: ‘I’m hanging this in my dining room.’
‘Oh my god this is so epic I can’t even take it. This is like the last supper of comedians,’ an impressed poster said.
A commenter penned: ‘Damn – so many legends at one table.’
As David, who could be seen poking his head up at the back, joked: ‘Why is Spade so camera shy?’

Jim has commanded a screen career spanning five decades and starred in unforgettable movies, landing two Golden Globe awards and a string of nominations over the years.
Most recently, he’s reprised his role as Dr Ivo Robotnik in 2022’s Sonic The Hedgehog 2, which could be his final role.
Speaking to Access Hollywood last year after Dolly Parton voiced her desire to have him star in a film of her life, the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind star said: ‘Well, I’m retiring. Yeah, probably. I’m being fairly serious.

‘It depends, if the angels bring some sort of script that’s written in gold ink that says to me that it’s going to be really important for people to see, I might continue down the road but I’m taking a break.
‘I really like my quiet life and I really like putting paint on canvas and I really love my spiritual life.
‘I feel like, and this is something you might never hear another celebrity say as long as time exists – I have enough. I’ve done enough. I am enough’.
