Taking to social media, she shared the article from the leading fashion magazine which reported: “Brace yourself.
“The noughties skull scarf is being raised from the dead.”
The article showed a picture of one of the Oslen twins wearing the infamous scarf.
Young TikTokers have been spotted wearing the style all over social media – starting a revival of the trend we never thought would come back around.
The scarf was originally designed by Alexander McQueen back in 2003 and became the must-have accessory instantly.
And now it seems it is again too.
Erin looked on in horror as she read the article.
But she soon rushed to her wardrobe and began rummaging through her old accessories to see if she still had hers.
Thankfully she did, and Erin was quick to try it on for viewers.
She styled the black and white skull print scarf with a yellow beanie, white T-shirt, leather jacket and distressed black jeans – a proper flashback to the grunge era.
“It is time,” she captioned the post as she posed in her throwback outfit.
The video which was posted to her TikTok account @overthemoonfaraway soon went viral with over 1million views and 155k likes in less than 24 hours.
People were quick to take to the comments to share their thoughts on why it had returned.
One person wrote: “I’m CONVINCED all this stuff is only trending because WEEEE finally took all these old clothes to the thrift store recently. And now Gen z is buying it.”
Others claimed they were mortified to see it again, but there were some who secretly loved that it was coming back around.
Another commented: “Yaaaaaassssss! Oh I’m ready!!”
“I can’t lie this fit still eats to me,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “I support this comeback.”
“No no no it’s dead it’s freaking dead, put it back haha,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “Oh no, I still have mine too.”
But it’s not the only noughties trend coming back around to haunt us once more.
Wearing a mini dress over trousers or jeans has been spotted on the catwalk and its garnered a mixed response form millennials.
After appearing on designer catwalks last summer, the trend trickled down to the high street stores.
Now the bold look has trickled down into high street stores, with Urban Outfitters and Ragged Priest jumping on the bandwagon.
Some retailers even offer jeans with an inbuilt skirt and belt, so that you don’t have to worry about layering the clothes yourself.
