Whilst some were desperate to nab themselves one and described it as ‘incredible’, others weren’t impressed, and described it as ‘thin’, ‘cheap’ and ‘ugly’.
Millie Fisher, a fashionista from the UK, took to social media to show off the new coat, sparking a lot of discussion online.
As she entered her local Primark in Charlton, she spotted the coat and urged shoppers: “Runnnn to get this, it’s so cute.”
Millie, who also has a very similar coat from Zara, then compared the two, as she wrote: “Comparing the Primark Zara coat dupe to the real one.”
The Primark faux fur coat is £40, and Millie tried it on in a size XL.
As she filmed herself in the mirror of the high-street chain, she confirmed: “This is the Primark one.”
She claimed that it is “such a nice quality” and she also “loves the way it sits.”
Moments later, Millie got changed into the very similar Zara version.
She then explained: “Zara coat also slays but is double the price tag.”
Discussing the Primark version, Millie later wrote: “It’s actually gorgeous, I was surprised!
“Definitely a difference in quality, but [it’s] still surprisingly decent quality!
“I just love the way it sits compared to Zara one!”
But despite her love of the “fairly thick” Primark dupe, she also explained: “I didn’t buy the Primark [one] as I already had the Zara [one].
“I wish I had bought it.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @milliefisherr, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed a whopping 582,600 views.
But social media users were totally divided by the clip – while some were impressed with the high-street buy, not everyone was as keen.
One fashionista penned: “I think the Primark one actually looks a nicer colour.”
To this, Millie replied: “Yeah it’s so nice isn’t it.”
A second shared: “The Primark one looks incredible.”
Someone else admitted: “Ok it looks soooo nice on you! On me I look like monster munch!”
Whilst another claimed: “The Primark one genuinely looks nicer on.”
At the same time, another Primark fan wrote: “I NEED.”
However, not everyone was as impressed by the coat, and others thought it was ‘ugly’ and ‘cheap’.
One person said: “The Primark one is so thin.”
Another added: “Faux fur is so ugly.”
A third commented: “It looks extremely cheap.”
Whilst someone else posted: “Both of these are fake plastic fur.”
