I work in Primark & here’s what it’s like – I spend most of my day going to the loo ’20 times’ & downing energy drinks

WE all love Primark for their affordable homeware and fashion – but have you ever wondered what it’s like for those working there?

Well, now one employee of the popular high street retailer has taken to TikTok to spill the beans of what an average shift looks like for her.

The young employee revealed that she spends most of the shift checking her phone in the looTikTok / @primarkeastldn

The staff member also likes to down energy drinks to get through the dayTikTok / @primarkeastldn

As well as receiving an exclusive staff discount, the employee also gets ‘first dibs on all the bargains’ before anyone elseTikTok / @primarkeastldn

According to the staff member, who works in the Romford branch in East London, she gets a discount to spend on items that have landed in the store.

Although the young woman did not disclose the amount, several fellow employees in the comments revealed it was anywhere from 10% to 15% off – and not only did someone claim it had to be used only ”on full-price items”, another person insisted they could use it ”only three times a year”.

In the video, which was shared on @primarkeastldn, the stunner claimed that ”everyone” wanted her to share the discount with them.

But although this is sure to get annoying from time to time, there’s also a massive perk with her role – as she gets her hands on the best deals before anyone else.

”I work in Primark – of course I get first dibs on all the bargains.”

The dedicated worker is also grateful for the signature black and blue uniform they have to wear – in fact, she’s so obsessed with the iconic design, she went as far as claiming that she and her colleagues ”love” it.

But what does she do on an average day at the retailer?

Well, as well as folding ”the same table ten times a day”, the worker also dashes to the loo a whopping ”20 times” every shift to check the notifications on her phone.

Whenever the staff member is not hiding in the toilet or calling her manager by the tills, she’ll load up on energy drinks to get through the day.

Last but not least, the London-based worker also reminded customers to not ask the same thing over and over again.

”I work in Primark – of course the bags are free.”

Dozens of social media users raced to comments to share their thoughts and experience with working in the popular discount store.

One former member said: ”When I worked at Primark, it was an all black uniform provided by yourselves and no staff discount.”

Another chimed in: ”Got told we didn’t need staff discounts cause the stuff was cheap enough.”

”And they’d search us on way out after shifts,” a third claimed.

”In Scotland the bags aren’t free! First time I went to Primark up there I was so confused,” a shopper penned.

”In Northern Ireland we get charge 20p for a paper bag,” another revealed.

Heading to Primark any time soon? Don’t forget to check out their latest homeware range where super fans of the store have spotted the most ”cute” £3 buy that’s making their ”inner child” scream.

That’s right, their brand new Printed Lunch Bag in Strawberry Print is the bargain find we didn’t know we needed up – and the £3 find has already become a hit on social media.

Also available in a marble print and a darker green design, the medium-sized bag features carry handles, as well as a shoulder strap for extra comfort.

No more carrying your food around in a plastic bag or praying the leftover dinner doesn’t spill inside your purse – this £3 buy is a must that lets you lunch in style, the brand wrote in the description.

”Lunch is one of our fave meals so make sure yours is kept fresh whilst looking as stylish as you!” Primark said.

This £3 lunch bag has sent fans into a frenzy – and we’re just as obsessed as they areTikTok / @abbyr0bins0n
