The Doctor Who fandom has been hit by the bombshell this week that new companion Millie Gibson might be leaving already, with Varada Sethu rumoured to be taking her place.

Our beloved BBC sci-fi series is gearing up for its proper comeback after Ncuti Gatwa took over as the 15th Doctor during the recent Christmas specials – after David Tennant reprised his role for the trio of one-hour episodes.

Millie, 19, made her first appearance over the festive period and it was confirmed she would be starring opposite Ncuti as new companion Ruby Tuesday for the entirety of the next season.

However, sources have now claimed that writer and showrunner Russell T Davies has already made plans to shuffle Ruby out of the show before Ncuti’s second season in The Tardis.

After the speculation surfaced on social media, Ncuti took to Instagram to refer to Millie as ‘my little love’, making his feelings clear about his co-star, who is set to fully step into her role when Doctor Who returns in May.

But who is Varada Sethu? And what other TV shows has she been in?
