Yet again, journalists are risking lives to report on Storm Isha – despite warnings to public-Sabrina Barr-Entertainment – Metro

A new storm has arrived in the UK, battering through the country with people being warned that there could be ‘danger to life’ amid blistering winds, torrential rain and flying debris.
However, that hasn’t stopped several journalists from braving the elements to report on Storm Isha – prompting baffled members of the public to question why they are seemingly having to go against their own advice.
In one new report from the BBC that’s been posted on X, someone was shown explaining why going outside in the current climate can be hazardous depending on the severity of the storm in your location.
‘The waves will come over and they could sweep you out to sea and it is hard in this weather to try and find anyone, so please if you do come down, or if not, please just steer clear of the sea if you can,’ the woman said.
Then straight away, the report cut to a reporter on the beach, metres away from the sea, her hair whipping in the strong winds.
‘The rain is here and the strong winds have already started to arrive and the sea is on its way in,’ the reporter said.

‘The real warning is around coastal areas, with large waves and debris.’
The clip was shared on X by TV critic and broadcaster Scott Bryan, who wrote: ‘Literally seconds apart. I don’t get it, honestly.’
In another report broadcast on Sky News, a reporter was shown in Porthcawl, Wales at night, with the sea visible behind him.
‘Well Storm Isha at this hour has fully arrived,’ said Dan Whitehead, the West of England and Wales Correspondent for the broadcaster.

‘This is the start of an amber warning, which we’ve been hearing about all day, that stretches right through to tomorrow.’
As Dan spoke to the camera, viewers could hear the loud wind blowing around him, while the hood of his jacket whipped around.
The journalist explained that you could ‘already tell’ that the winds were picking up… and yet, outside he remained.
One X user who goes by the handle @hmmbwav said that witnessing journalists in dangerous weather climates was a ‘pet hate’ of theirs.
Another going by the handle @neverunderesti8 added that there could be the risk of someone getting ‘seriously hurt’ if the custom continues.
