Britain’s Got Talent 2024 has got off to a chaotic start after an intruder reportedly tried to make their way backstage.

The popular talent competition is returning to our screens very soon, with thousands of hopefuls desperate to impress judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dion and Bruno Tonioli.

But things were thrown into chaos as police were forced to attend the venue after a woman allegedly tried to sneak backstage.

Security were seen checking the area as police were photographed talking to a woman who kept her hood up.

She was later seen being escorted from the premises by officers.

Witnesses including theatre staff reportedly said an intruder ‘tried to sneak in backstage,’ according to the Daily Mail.

A police statement to Metro.co.uk confirmed officers ‘were called at 1.23pm … to reports of a woman suffering a mental health crisis at Argyll Street, W1.’

‘Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The woman was assisted by officers who made arrangements for her to be met by a family member.’

They said there were ‘no offences’ committed.

The new season kicks off without former judge David Walliams, who stepped down from the programme in 2022 after an expletive rant he made about a contestant was leaked.

In 2023, he launched legal proceedings and sued Fremantle Media for ‘significant damages’, with the production company revealing in November they had agreed to a settlement.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Fremantle said it was ‘sincerely sorry’ that David’s ‘private conversations’ were published.

‘We have reviewed our production practices on the show to ensure they fully respect the expectations of our talent whilst satisfying the requirements of the show.’

After leaving the series, David was replaced by former Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno.
