This Morning staff are said to be ‘livid’ over the fact replacement presenters haven’t been confirmed after Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s exit.

The likes of Josie Gibson, Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond have been filling in over recent months, with the newest addition being Siân Welby.

However, a permanent host for the ITV daytime programme has yet to be announced, reportedly leaving staff ‘in limbo’.

A source said: ‘All anyone can talk about behind the scenes is who the next team on the sofa will be.

‘It’s not just the talent either – there’s widespread frustration at the lack of a decision, and some are really livid.’

The insider continued to The Mirror: ‘Many of the stylists and make-up artists work for one particular person, so they’re keen to know when they’ll be working. Those people are also in limbo.’

Holly, 42, quit the ITV daytime programme in October after 14 years, saying that it was ‘a difficult goodbye’, and leading to a variety of hosts stepping in to present, including Rylan Clark and Ben Shephard.

‘To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we’ve done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you,’ Holly said in her statement.

She later returned to Dancing On Ice, after weeks of speculation over whether she would.

Schofield meanwhile resigned from ITV in full after admitting his ‘unwise but not illegal affair’.

He’s since remained outside of the spotlight, and has only been photographed on a handful of occasions since last spring.

The 61-year-old previously confessed he didn’t think he would ever work in television again, but he’s since been rumoured to be taking part in Celebrity Big Brother this March.

Sian Welby has been revealed as a favourite for a permanent host, after presenting alongside Dermot O’Leary (Picture: Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock)

In recent days, radio presenter Siân has been revealed as a favourite to become a permanent host.

The 37-year-old rose to fame co-hosting the Capital Breakfast show alongside Roman Kemp and is said to have ‘done a fantastic job’ with everyone at ITV ‘totally loving her’.

A source continued to the MailOnline: ‘She is a massive breath of fresh air, she has come along and just wowed everyone. She has been a joy to watch for the viewers but also Martin and other executives on the show and they think she has the ability to grow and grow on the show and become the next Holly.’

Bosses are thought to be in agreement that Siân has star potential, having previously appeared on the popular daytime show as a showbiz reporter.
