“Come thrift shopping with me. I’m out and about getting groceries today and there is a Goodwill close by so let’s go see if we can find anything good,” said Erin Confortini (@erinconfortini).
The Pittsburgh-based podcaster could not believe her luck.
“So I think I found a $200 bag at the thrift store. I was looking around at the purses and this one really caught my eye,” she said holding up a black crochet bag.
She was super impressed with her frugal thrift find for another reason as well.
“I feel like oversized bags are really in right now. And in all of the Pinterest outfits that I’m saving the girls are all carrying these big boho-type bags.
“Then I was like it’s ten bucks and ten bucks at the thrift store just sounds like a lot to me,” she said.
But after looking at the label it seemed that this treasure hunter was feeling pleased with her purchase after all.
The bag was from the popular brand the sak.
Although she never heard of the label, she did some additional digging of her own.
“Literally all of the purses this size on their site were close to $200. I was like yes, I will spend the $10 on this. It is in perfect condition, I’m so excited,” she explained.
Her fans certainly seemed to be familiar with the high-end bag.
“The sak is the best!” said one enthused follower.
“I remember we all ran to have a sak back in the day!” another watcher reminisced.
“I love their bags! I’ve had one for almost a decade and it still looks how it did when I got it even though I use it a few times a week!” exclaimed a super Sak lover.
“Yeah! You got a great deal,” said an impressed follower.
The sak, launched 30 years ago, is known for its consciously crafted bags made of 100% sustainable materials.

Her find from the brand the sak sells for around $200 – a bit higher than the $10 she paid at GoodwillTikTok/itserinconfortini
