Content creator Frank Cuesta ended up in hospital after three minute fight with a buck (Picture: YouTube)
Wildlife expert Frank Cuesta was ‘lucky’ to escape a dangerous buck attack, as a three minute fight left Twitch fans stunned.
Twitch isn’t just about watching people play video games or fake electrocuting themselves with a toaster. It’s also a platform for city travelling and animal handling, and almost everything in between.
Frank Cuesta is one of the big names when it comes to the latter, as the former TV presenter streams from his animal sanctuary, where he helps and interacts with wild animals.
This time things didn’t go so well, however, as Cuesta was lucky to escape an encounter with an aggressive buck that placed him in hospital, and shocked his fans.
During a Twitch stream this wee, Frank Cuesta approached a herd of four deer in his animal sanctuary.
Three of the deer ran away as he came closer, but the biggest one, a male deer with antlers, charged at Cuesta when he came too close.
Cuesta was violently pushed into a rock wall with great force, and was heard screaming in pain as he struggled with the buck.
The fight lasted well over three minutes and Cuesta was attacked several times throughout.
A Reddit post with a video titled ‘Frank Cuesta almost dies after getting attacked by a deer’ went viral, and fans were horrified at what they saw.
‘The full video is so much worse. He was fighting for his life and he was losing.’ said Foxfire802.
‘Damn! You were not exaggerating, a smaller person probably would have died there,’ Harshaw511 added.
Cuesta later uploaded a video on YouTube to explain what happened, where, according to RobertAlve who translated what he said on Reddit, the Spanish wildlife expert revealed that he ended up in hospital with two broken ribs and several abrasions.
The video made its way to Twitter as well, where he is translated as saying:
‘I just had a small issue. […] I made the mistake of leaving in an area where he [the deer] saw no exit, and he went in for me. It was my fault for thinking he had an exit. I’m a bit dizzy because of the fight, but we were lucky this time.’
Deer might seem harmless, but Help Wildlife warns: ‘Even the smallest deer can be very dangerous and you should never attempt to handle one yourself.’
Although it’s a tough watch, the video is a great example of the dangers of being around wild animals, and a deer’s instinct to protect itself and its herd.
You can see the attack for yourself in the video link above, or the version in the tweet below, but be warned it is not a pleasant watch.
