Simon Cowell’s son Eric has clearly been learning from his dad if the recent Britain’s Got Talent auditions are anything to go by.

The nine-year-old joined dad Simon at the London auditions for the ITV talent show and was asked for his opinion on an act.

According to an onlooker he didn’t need to be told twice, as the youngster happily shared his critique.

‘I didn’t really like the first bit, but I liked the second bit,’ he reportedly told the choir, who were auditioning for the show. Well, at least there was a compliment in there somewhere!

Although Simon, 64, who shares Eric with partner Lauren Silverman, was reportedly a little embarrassed, fellow judge Amanda Holden, who recently demonstrated her secret ‘skill’, saw an opportunity to have a joke with the live audience.

According to The Mirror, she told the crowd: ‘He’s a chip off the old block!’

Also briefly joining the panel was Amanda’s daughter Hollie, 11, who also watched Teachers Rock, which is comprised of both teachers and children who ’embrace cultural diversity’.

‘I think it was inspirational and a fantastic performance,’ stated Hollie.

Alesha Dixon’s daughter Azura, nine, echoed her sentiments: ‘There was a lot of good energy.’

The auditions only began a week ago, but it is already shaping up to be an interesting series filled with plenty of shenanigans.

Newest judge Bruno Tonioli even broke a key prop due to his excitement at an act – the former Strictly star managed to smash the golden buzzer. If a judge hits the button (which they are only allowed to do once) then the act automatically goes through to the next stage of the competition.

On the very first day of filming, three golden acts sailed through to the semi-finals.

‘Never in the history of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ since golden buzzers have been invented has that happened. It was an amazing afternoon,’ teased Amanda, 52, on her Heart radio show.

According to The Sun, Bruno, 68, selected a dance act that ‘almost moved him to tears’, Simon was equally impressed by a Japanese dance act, and Amanda chose to send through a female theatre singer.

Britain’s Got Talent was also recently hit by ‘chaos’ when it was reported that an intruder was removed from the premises by police.

Although we don’t have an official date to watch all the action unfold on TV yet, the series, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly, usually begins airing on ITV in April.
