There’s more evidence to suggest that Shadow Of The Erdtree, the highly anticipated Elden Ring DLC is going to be released this month.

While there’s already been a string of evidence to suggest Elden Ring’s DLC, Shadow Of The Erdtree, is coming out in February, that seems even more likely after a new Steam update.

As shared by Reddit user hsuhs_., the SteamDB file for Elden Ring is now listed as being in ‘QA release’, indicating the developers are testing some sort of update. While it doesn’t name Shadow Of The Erdtree specifically, it’s the only known update on the horizon.

Other Reddit users have since suggested, judging by past update cycles of 14 days, that this could mean Shadow Of The Erdtree is coming out on February 16. As pointed out in the comments, however, this pattern only applies to patches and not DLC, so that may be a bit optimistic.

It’s probably more likely that some kind of announcement will be planned for Elden Ring’s second anniversary on February 25. The DLC was originally announced around the same time on February 28, so an update of some kind, whether a trailer, release date or shadowdrop, would make some marketing sense.

This also comes after another update on the Steam backend last month, labelled ‘Unknown App’, which was the first time the DLC page has been updated since the addition of a pre-order bonus bundle in May 2022.

Other signs pointing to an announcement in February include updated YouTube playlists, leaked controllers, and an unknown Elden Ring collectible figurine that’s set to come out this month. You can check out all the past evidence here.

The last time developer FromSoftware acknowledged Shadow Of The Erdtree was in December, when producer Yasuhiro Kitao said the team ‘still has a little way to go’ on the DLC but that it is ‘progressing well’.

That, of course, might be them being cagey, as the amount of evidence pointing to a February announcement certainly makes it seem like something is imminent.
