TV legend gouges Elmo’s eyes out live on breakfast TV-Rishma Dosani-Entertainment – Metro

Larry David was forced to issue a very insincere apology after he launched a physical attack on Elmo, during a fever dream of a TV appearance.

The Curb Your Enthusiasm star was on the Today Show on Thursday, to promote the latest series of his popular comedy – and his thoughts on Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce – but he wasn’t the only famous face who had been invited into the studios.

In fact, Elmo was also slated to appear with his dad, Louie, to unpack the wild responses to his viral tweet – after he innocently asked everyone on Twitter how they were doing, prompting an outpouring of emotion from everyone.

However, it turns out that Larry wasn’t among those who enjoyed the Sesame Street star’s query, and made his feelings known in frankly shocking scenes.

As the camera panned to Al Roker’s weather segment, the 76-year-old rushed onto the set to attack the popular puppet in a bizarre, frenzied attack.

He could be seen gouging Elmo’s eyes out, before throwing a fake punch in his direction and grabbing his face.

Soon after the violence erupted, he calmly walked back to his seat across the studio, with Savannah and Hoda checking on their guest.

‘Mr Larry, Elmo liked you before,’ he yelled. ‘Let’s get back on the couch and just talk about how you’re feeling.’

Louie offered some words of wisdom to the Hollywood favorite, warning him: ‘Ask permission before you touch people, Larry…’

As Al tried to regain his composure, Savannah fumed: ‘Larry, you’ve gone too far this time.’

‘Somebody had to do it,’ he yelled from off camera.

Later in the segment, she urged him to apologize to the puppet and get their friendship back on track.

‘Larry, do you have something you want to say to Elmo? And from your heart…,’ she asked.

‘From where?! What organ are you talking about,’ Larry quipped, before attempting to be sincere. ‘Elmo, I just want to apologize…’

‘Thank you, Larry. Elmo accepts your apology,’ he replied, as everyone praised him for being so gracious.

Elmo is a better puppet than we ever could be…

Furiously protective fans watching on from home rushed to discuss the footage on social media, warning the Curb star to keep his hands to himself in future.

‘Don’t let us catch you on Sesame Street, Larry. It’s on sight,’ one said.

Another penned: ‘Count your days Larry…count your days! We ride for Elmo.’

‘I hope Elmo and his dad handled business after the cameras went off,’ a viewer joked.

A commenter agreed: ‘This is like an episode of Maury.’

As a YouTube user fumed: ‘I know Elmo is just a puppet, but this actually made me feel upset. Larry should’ve kept his hands to himself.’
