One of the stars of Dancing On Ice 2024 threatened to quit the show after a quarrel with their professional partner, it’s been reported.

Tonight, former EastEnders actor Ricky Norwood will return to the rink with champion skater Annette Dytrt for the fourth week of the competition, after boxer Ricky Hatton and S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt were eliminated.

For the past two weeks, the 40-year-old has scored on the lower end of the leaderboard for his performances, earning the second least amount of points on both occasions and therefore narrowly missing out on being eliminated.

It’s been claimed that during skating practice with Annette, 40, on Thursday, Ricky felt ‘frustrated’ over their interactions and apparently stormed off after just 15 minutes.

A source told The Sun: ‘Ricky was trying to work on his posture but Annette was getting frustrated that he was not grasping it.

‘He felt that Annette was treating him like a kid and was clearly frustrated at her lack of patience.’

The insider claimed that Ricky stormed off the ice and ‘threw his skates off in a rage while shouting “I’m done” and “f**k this”.

They added: ‘Annette is a perfectionist and wants to shine on the show, given that it is her first series.’

Annette joined Dancing On Ice as a new pro skater this year, which she said was a ‘dream come true’.

Ricky starred as Arthur ‘Fatboy’ Chubb on EastEnders from 2010 until 2015, and made an unexpected cameo in the role last year.

A year after his initial departure from the BBC soap, he joined the cast of Celebrity Big Brother, finishing the competition as the runner-up.

He recently teased that he wouldn’t be opposed to returning to Albert Square, telling RadioTimes: ‘They’ve had a year full of great storylines. Christmas was fantastic.

‘So if they ever needed Fatboy back in the Square, all they’ve got to do is give me a call.’

When he made his brief return in 2023, he wrote on X: ‘Guess who back..!?!? Even for a brief moment…What an episode and what an epic storyline to be apart of @missmcollins.

‘Big Thanks to Chris Clenshaw for making it happen! The @bbceastenders team for keeping it super secret.’

Metro.co.uk has contacted ITV and representatives of Ricky Norwood for comment.

Dancing On Ice returns today at 6.20pm on ITV.
