Saturdays star Frankie Bridge has revealed an MRI scan for headaches uncovered a ‘really rare’ tumour.

The singer and mum-of-two, 35, explained how worried she was when she received the call from a doctor telling her a tumour had been found in her neck.

She recalled that the doctor didn’t want to tell her what it was as he had to present the results to a panel of specialists to get confirmation.

‘I suffer with headaches – I recently had an MRI – and just by chance they found something on my neck, so I had to have another MRI,’ she shared on Tuesday’s edition of Loose Women.

‘It turned out to be a tumour which is benign, it doesn’t need treating it’s absolutely fine,’ she reassured her colleagues and viewers.

However, the performer admitted it didn’t stop her from fearing the worst, initially, during the week that followed her doctor’s initial call.

‘I was on my own, [husband] Wayne [Bridge] was away, and I was in the middle of cooking the boys dinner. And [the doctor] was like, “Oh we’ve found a tumour. I don’t want to say what it is yet because I don’t know. I’m going to have to present it to a board of specialists.”

‘Just instantly I thought, “That’s it. This is my time, I’m going to be sick” –  or, I did go straight away to “Oh God, I’m going to die” and I had to kind of hold it together for the boys.’

Discussing her final diagnosis, she added: ‘Luckily, for me the outcome was it’s just really rare, it’s just unfortunate, they only came across it because they were scanning me for my headaches, and it will be something we have to monitor.’

Frankie also remembered how she had just ‘breezed through the week [and] didn’t really take anything in’ before receiving the all-clear from cancer.

She shares sons Parker, 10, and Carter, eight, with Wayne, 43, who she married in 2014.
