The 75-year-old British monarch has started a schedule of regular treatments for what Buckingham Palace has described as ‘a form of cancer’, which was detected when he underwent treatment for an enlarged prostate.
While many around the world were stunned by the news, professional wrestling fans are alarmed for a whole different recent – and it’s all to do with CM Punk.
The injury was suffered at the Royal Rumble event on January 27, while he also tore his triceps back at AEW All Out on September 4, 2022, just four days before Queen Elizabeth II died aged 96.
The fan wrote: ‘CM Punk tears his triceps in 2022: queen dies days later. CM Punk tears his triceps in 2024: king Charles gets cancer days later. Makes you think 🤔🤔🤔🤔’

‘Yikes,’ replied @lauzocad, while @SegaGen757204321 added: ‘Oh my god…’, and fan @AyeSharp pondered: ‘The royal family’s health is directly tied to the straight-edge superstar.’
Others have taken things a step further, noting that Punk’s wrestling career began in 1997, the year Princess Diana died, and he lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania 29 just one day before former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher died.
‘Cursed Monarchy Punk,’ wrote @GH0ST0FS0CRATES, while it turns out some people actually found out about Charles’ condition by reading the original post.

‘This is how I found out King Charles has cancer,’ admitted @L33t_h4x, as @stylesakgae tweeted: ‘THE KING WHAT?’
Fans are waiting to find out when Punk will return to the ring, after he underwent surgery this week and is now beginning his rehab.
In a video diary shared during Monday Night Raw, he promised fans: ‘My comeback will be the greatest of all time.’
Yesterday, a message from Buckingham Palace was shared confirming that the King is receiving treatment, and will be taking a step back from his public duties to focus on his health.
‘During the King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted,’ it read.

‘Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer. His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties.
‘Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.’
The Palace added: ‘He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.’
