I struck gold when I found a £3k gem in my charity shop’s 20p jewellery bin – but people say I shouldn’t get too excited

SHE is no stranger to finding gems in the charity shop.

And Francesca thought she’d struck gold on a bargain hunting mission once again, when she raided the store’s 20p box of jewellery.

She showed the watch next to a real Tag Heuer one on the websitetiktok/@francescacharityshop

As well as showing the box of “tatty jewellery” she’d found it intiktok/@francescacharityshop

She took to TikTok to share a video as she showed off her find, which appeared to be a Tag Heuer watch.

“Did I find a £3,000 watch for 20p in the charity shop?” she began.

“I found this in a box full of tatty jewellery for 20p!

“I don’t know enough about the brand to know if it is 100% legit.”

She then showed herself rifling through the box she found the watch in, as she asked people for their opinions on the authenticity of the accessory.

“Did I find a £3k watch hidden in a 20p bin? any watch experts out there?” Francesca captioned the video.

But some comments warned Francesca not to get too excited.

“I don’t think it’s a real one doll but a bargain none the less!” one wrote.

“I don’t think it is unfortunately,” another added.

“Turkey fake,” a third commented.

“It’s a copy,”someone else insisted.

“You can tell by the quality of the strap plus the hands of the watch is not of a genuine TAG style.”

“Real tag watches have flat faces,” another wrote.

To which Francesca replied: “I think there’s a bit around it missing…”

“Have you google image searched it?” someone else asked.

With Francesca responding: “Yes…and it looks identical!”

And others held out more hope that the watch is genuine Tag Heuer.

“I think it’s genuine you know!” one wrote.

“It’s identical…go get it checked girl!!”

“God that would be incredible if it’s real,” another added.

“Looks legit to me! What a find!!!” a third said.

“It’s legit but it’s not worth 3k , great watch tho,” someone else commented.

“Looks genuine!” another agreed.

“I hope you’re lucky,” someone else commented.

To which Francesca replied: “Me too! A holiday would be nice!”

“Get it checked and let us know,” another said.

“I’m so invested in this now!”

Meanwhile, others revealed their own bargain buys, with one writing: “I once got a 9 carat gold necklace and matching bracelet for 20p each.

“They were in a box of costume jewellery all tangled up.”

“Once I found vintage Givenchy earrings for 50p!” another said.

“I have a Gucci belt I found for £3 but can’t work out if it is genuine,” a third commented.

As someone else wrote: “I got a Pandora birth stone ring for 10p!”
